"Israelis do not trust Obama, meaning they suspect that, in his heart, he may not adore everything about Binyamin Netanyahu and his policies. (One can only hope). Here is the latest poll."We are long used to Rosenberg stereotyping AIPAC, neocons and "Zionists" as unthinking zombies mindlessly devoting to not only Netanyahu himself but all of his decisions. This is the only time that Rosenberg has gone so far as to imply that Israelis all support unquestioningly everything their PM does, and that is why they don't look favorably upon Obama.
Not only does Rosenberg not provide any information to back up this ridiculous claim but in fact the poll that he linked to above indicates the opposite, from Netanyahu's perspective, that Israelis just don't know everything that is going on:
"When Netanyahu was asked why Israelis disliked Obama, in an interview with CBS news anchor Katie Couric last week, Netanyahu said that Israelis did not have all the facts before them like he did.Without actual evidence to back up his beliefs, this is just more yellow journalism from Mr. Rosenberg.
“Maybe they don’t have the opportunity to have the kind of conversations that I had,” he said. “And maybe they’re not aware also of the ongoing cooperation between Israel and the United States. In the fields of security, intelligence – the fact that the Iron Dome program to protect against missiles is something that has been bolstered by this administration and by this president. We have a common goal to achieve a secure peace. I’m looking forward to working with him to achieve it.”
