A rare pro-Israel blog post has made it onto the Huffington Post, so you should go check it out. It's by Steve Sheffey and it describes all the numerous ways Obama has remained a "pro-Israel" President in his first year in office. While I felt that Obama has not been the ideal President in regards to the peace process (his Administration's demand to freeze all the settlements had ramifications beyond the freeze itself that I don't believe Obama realized), it was refreshing to see all of the legislation passed and statements made by the U.S. government. When you spend a lot of time on the Huffington Post, you begin to forget there are people out there who don't think Israel is the worst state ever.
This is my favorite quote from the blog post, at the end:
"Obama does NOT believe that the Holocaust and Palestinian suffering are morally equivalent."
But I'm sure we'll still see anti-Israel commentators keep making "Warsaw Ghetto" comparisons because they are wiser about this conflict than Obama.
