Number of Articles
Result: The number of anti-Israel blog posts continue to hold a significant majority of the entire population, but this month marked a decrease from November. The Gaza Freedom March-related posts made up almost a quarter of the Huffington Posts’ editorials on the Arab-Israeli issue. Only one blog post was posted that attacked the GFMers, in contrast. Pro-Israel articles and “takes no side” articles were both tied at six. Regardless, for this month the hypothesis was supported.
Discussion: It is likely that the focus on the Gaza Freedom March led to other articles (both pro and anti-Israel) were passed over to save space. It is also possible that the lower number of anti-Israel articles is explained by the many GFM-related articles, a great many of which were attacks on Israel. Further data will of course be required, and the problems that we encountered in November persist today.
Average Comments Per Threadbecause one article had over 100 comments. The rest are about normal. Further, both pro- and anti-Israel article received approximately equal numbers of traffic, even though there were significantly fewer pro-Israel articles. Makes you wonder what the results would be if there were more of a balance in editorials.
Discussion: As mentioned in the November research, one should not jump to any conclusions based on this data alone. This will be simply be compiled and added to the overall data, in the hopes that a larger sample will be crunched in the future.
